Ryan Seacrest Shares Throwback Family Photos on His Late Dad’s Birthday

Ryan Seacrest honored his late father on what would have been his birthday. He shared a throwback photo with his dad and his sister, as well as a more recent photo.

“Today we honor and celebrate my best friend on his birthday. Dad. He was the best listener I have ever met, and he always said, ‘I love this family.’ We love you and miss you, Dad,” he captioned the post.

The first photo featured Ryan, his mom, Connie, and his dad, Gary, as well as his sister, Meredith, and her daughter and husband. His mom and dad sat at a table as the rest of them stood around them for a photo.

It is not clear what the occasion was, but there were food and wine glasses on the table. Sunglasses and short sleeves were another clue that the photo was taken in the spring or summer months. Then, the second photo featured Ryan and Meredith as children helping their dad blow out birthday candles.

Seacrest revealed on October 31 that his dad had passed away earlier that week after a battle with prostate cancer. “It is with a heavy heart that I share with you that my loving father peacefully passed away earlier this week,” he wrote, along with a series of family photos.

“My mom, sister, and I have peace knowing he is in a better place and free of any pain or suffering. We are heartbroken. He was a devoted husband for 56 years, an incredible Papa to Flora, and my best friend. Dad, you will live in our hearts forever. I love you.”

Fans left well wishes for Ryan and his family in the comments of the birthday post. Many just wished Gary a Happy Birthday.

“Your father raised an amazing son. Happy Birthday to your dad,” a follower said.

“I know you miss him terribly, because birthdays and holidays are the hardest! Try to focus on sweet memories you shared as a family over the years! That helped me a lot when I lost my Dad way too soon at 64,” another commented.

“Sending love!” a third wrote.

“Thinking of you! Your Dad is always with you,” another said.
