What To Know

  • Call the Midwife star Helen George recently split with Dan Innes, her boyfriend of more than one year.
  • She got emotional while talking about the ‘recent events in [her] love life’ during a new podcast episode.
  • The podcast was filmed after George shared cryptic quotes that seemingly referenced the breakup on Instagram.

Call the Midwife star Helen George had a few emotional moments on the most recent episode of her Mystic Mates podcast with pal Yvette Robinson. This comes following her recent split from Dan Innes, who was spotted moving out of her home earlier this month after moving in at the beginning of the year.

While she didn’t address the breakup directly, George admitted she’s been having a “tough week,” with Robinson noting, “There’s been voice notes with lots of tears.”

Later in the episode, Robinson did a tarot card reading for her costar and asked George what’s been on her mind recently. “I think the recent events in my love life, probably,” she responded, adding that she’s “been going through some personal things” and that “it’s been pretty s**t.”

In the reading, Robinson warned George that she has some “challenges” ahead, to which the actress replied, “Babe, don’t you think I’ve had enough challenges?!” However, she was assured that she’s “getting [her] power back” and that the challenges will help her “grow.”

George and Innes started dating in 2025 after meeting on Raya, according to Daily Mail. He moved in with her and her two daughters less than a year later at the beginning of 2026. After the breakup, The Sun reported that the pair’s “differences became apparent,” which led to the split.

Meanwhile, George posted a cryptic quote that seemingly referenced what was going on in her personal life on Instagram. “I will absolutely take responsibility for when I am wrong. But I will never apologize for responding to disrespect,” the message said. “If you lit the match, do not stand in the flames pretending to be the victim.”

She also later shared another quote that read, “When the chaos leaves, the calm resumes,” and a third that said, “I don’t want my daughter to be like me. I want her to speak up sooner. Walk away faster. Trust herself deeper. Apologise less. Take up more space. Ask bigger questions. Dream louder. And if that means she becomes everything I wasn’t, good.”
