‘Fox & Friends’: Trump’s Lindsey Graham Tribute Veers Wildly Off Topic During Call

While Donald Trump refused to talk about anything but the late Lindsey Graham in his CNN interview with Jake Tapper, he seemingly had no issue veering off-topic when he called into Fox & Friends on Monday (July 13).
The president called into the morning show to honor the U.S. Senator, who died after a “brief and sudden illness” on Saturday (July 11). Trump described Graham as a “nice man” and a “great guy” who “loved playing golf,” before insulting Graham’s golfing skills.
Trump then said that Graham was a big supporter of the SAVE America Act and used this as an excuse to rant about a number of issues, including terminating the filibuster, voter ID, mail-in ballots, and Spencer Pratt‘s failed California mayoral campaign.
“I think [Graham] would have felt the same way about terminating the filibuster, which was so important,” the president said, per Mediaite. “I mean, it’s so important that Republicans have to do it. It’s so insane. Otherwise, we’re gonna have a shutdown in September, and we have a debt ceiling problem coming in two years, and if you terminate the filibuster, everything goes away.”
He continued, “Everyone was against — not everybody against, 20% were against. He was one, and now he was starting to say, ‘Terminate the filibuster,’ otherwise we’ll have crazy, ridiculous, Trump-deranged… These people suffer from a very fine disease known as Trump derangement syndrome. And he was seeing that.”
Cohost Lawrence Jones tried to get Trump back on topic, but it was too late. Instead, the president turned his attention to former reality star Pratt, who recently lost the mayoral race in California.
“Look what happened to the kid in California,” Trump stated. “They sent a million ballots. Nobody knew where they came from. So you don’t do mail-in ballots, or if you go on vacation, you get a pass. We make it nice and easy.”
Jones attempted to interrupt again but Trump kept going, adding, “Spencer Pratt came up to my office and said he thought he won, I said why didn’t you complain? He didn’t know who to complain to. But what they did that guy was unbelievable. He’s a nice guy, he worked so hard. And they found millions of ballots, you know? And they took the election away from him.”
“Mr. President, real quickly, did you notice anything different from Lindsay?” Jones asked, trying but failing to get Trump to talk about the late senator.
The president ignored the question and continued to rant about so-called election fraud. “So these, these elections are very dishonest,” he said.
Eventually, co-host Griff Jenkins managed to interject and got Trump back on track.
This was a very different story from Trump’s call-in on CNN’s State of the Union on Sunday (July 12). When host Tapper tried to ask a question about the conflict with Iran, the president snapped at the anchor, saying, “Don’t talk about it. Talk about the reason that you asked me to speak.”

Interviewing the President Of The United States Of America is a distinct Privilege Not a right. He works for our country, Not news media. As POTUS he is Supposed to be treated by news media with common courtesy, dignity, and respect for the Office he holds regardless of how the interviewer might feel about him on a personal basis. Those are the characteristics of Good professional media persons. And those that want to get called upon by the POTUS in the future in large groups of media. BUT Many of the heavily Left Leaning Fake News MSM try to treat POTUS like crap then are Stupid enough to wonder Why he retaliates so harshly ! If I were POTUS I wouldn’t let some news reporter try to run all over me either ! Love how they try to act all innocent and as seen by comments from their supporters Here that Love Lies and distortion of Truth try to act as if their Fake News outlets are just innocent little lambs that meant no harm. Yeah Sure. Right. They go after Trump like a bulldog on a steak ! The whole agenda is the Get Trump mantra of the Left. Well I’ll just say this and let it go. The major Fake News outlets were Ultra kind to Obama. Michelle might’ve needed to be jealous of Katie Couric as she practically drooled over him. Even said how handsome he is !When Trump come in as a life long businessman NOT a politician they automatically went on Attack mode. They Knew from the start he might get elected POTUS. The Dems threw everything they could at him trying to ruin him ! Then vs Biden the Same Fake News MSM asked Biden tough, tough questions like what was his favorite flavor ice cream ? With Trump can you give us a comparative calculation of all conventional and nuclear weapons currently held by our enemies and any potential enemies ? And we will quote you word for word and do our level best to make you look foolish ! Boy that’s sure fair ! Truth they treated Obama and Biden just great ! Obama scorned Christianity. Biden called conservatives Deplorable z. With Trump he gets treated like crap. Why ? Because he was elected both times from a GOP platform. They Obviously and Deliberately lean heavily to the Left. Anyone that doesn’t see that is either Lying or Willfully Ignorant. They’ve not treated him fairly from the start. Yes he has a big arrogant streak and Yes he speaks rough. But the Left has tried to Bankrupt him, Jail him, they Did Impeach him Twice on Garbage Grounds but they held the majority, they’ve tried to destroy his reputation, split his family apart, and even tried to kill him Three times.

Wanted to add this Oprah Winfrey interviewed him a long time back. Then he was LOVED by the LEFT as he was a Democrat supporter. She asked him “ Would you ever consider running for POTUS ? He replied No I don’t think so, Unless I knew my country Really needed me and I was Asked. When he was a Democrat supporter he partied with VIP Dems And was great friends with them folks like Bill and Hillary Clinton. Now way back Before he ran for his first term. He could be kicked back with beautiful Melania ( who the left has also attacked like rabid dogs) drinking a Diet Coke on the beach at Mar-A-Lago ! Or golfing his favorite past time. But we know the rest. The Second term was Really amazing ! He’s either a glutton for cruel punishment or Truly Loves America. I believe it’s the latter. His Sin ? Leaving the Dems and running with the GOP. Had he ran as a Dem AND adopted their country killing ideologies they’d have absolutely adored him ! And instead of tearing down statues like their So good at they would’ve probably erected one of him ! But he stands in stark opposition to their America killing ideologies so they utterly Hate him. And would do him material, mental, or physical damage or even better All three if they could ! They want to destroy Traditional America and birth a perversion to replace it ! It’s really very simple. He treats the media decently that treats Him decently. The Fake News MSM always try to go for “Gotcha” moments. They demean, insult, and disrespect him so often in so many ways. Small wonder he gives them limited info. Fox on the other hand does treat him with decency and respect so he feels comfortable with them. It’s just plain ole human nature. I’d be defensive to talking with people who constantly look for any tidbit they can to embarrass and humiliate me. Though not a news outlet last week he was mocked about the size of his hands on SNL. Like that’s an extremely important part of being POTUS. 🙄 He’s Not gonna be treated well by these news organizations and I’m talking supposedly real news organizations. They feel they need to feed their audience trash. So they do. I’m surprised he gives them the time of day less alone an interview. But he’s never been scared of them. He just gives them limited info. And saves all the more detailed info. for Fox ! That’s Why they get so many exclusives from Trump. Is what it is.

Yes, unfortunately, it's for real. You replied to someone who apparently feels that it's okay for a president to have the attitude that "if you say something nice about me, I'll like you, but if you say mean things about me, it's WAR." Never mind that the 'mean things' are absolutely demonstrably true. All the Commander-in-Cheat wants is loyalty and admiration. Which is why he insists on having rallies even though he's not running for anything. (Thank G0D!!)

Normally I wouldn't engage with you, but you seem to be missing a very important point on this topic. If the orange idiot was a private citizen, he could say whatever he liked and absolutely nobody would care. But somehow the man inexplicably got elected to office and so now he's PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES. Along with that once-respected title there should be some level of decorum, and along with it the responsibility to act with dignity and honor. Not to mention basic, common respect for ALL citizens of his own country. Don't you think every other president had people say mean things about them? (Even you can't deny that double standard.) And yet all previous residents of the White House ignored the insults and "mean comments"... because they were civilized people who RESPECTED the rights of others to disagree with them. And to call them names. They did NOT go whining on TV or constantly complain about being a victim. As for legitimate news sources who report things that Donny doesn't like.... they confirm and vet their stories, and just because those stories are unflattering doesn't mean they're not true. If he doesn't like it, he should resign and become a private citizen. And if he moves out of the country, there wouldn't be any nasty old stories for the news people to report.
