What To Know

  • CBS Mornings was the only major morning show to increase both total viewers and key demo ratings for the week of June 29.
  • NBC’s Today remained the top-rated morning show in both total viewers and the key demo.
  • ABC’s Good Morning America saw a slight week-over-week dip in total viewers but posted year-over-year gains.

The morning news ratings for the week of June 29 proved a success for CBS Mornings, the only show to increase in both total viewers and the coveted Adults 25-54 demographic.

It should be noted that the Fourth of July holiday led to changes in scheduling, so the weekly averages for ABC, CBS, and NBC are based on only three days (Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday).

According to AdWeek, citing Nielsen’s national live+same-day big data plus program ratings, CBS Mornings averaged 1.738 million total viewers and 288,000 demo viewers for the week of June 29. This was up 5 percent in total viewers and up 14 percent in the demo compared to the previous week.

Things weren’t quite so positive in the year-over-year comparison. CBS Mornings, hosted by Gayle King and Nate Burleson, was down 5 percent in total viewers and down 3 percent in the demo compared to the same period in 2025.

Despite CBS Mornings‘ growth, NBC’s Today held onto the No. 1 spot in both categories, averaging 2.827 million total viewers and 568,000 demo viewers for the week of June 29. This was down 5 percent in total viewers and down 10 percent in the demo compared to the week prior.

Compared to the same period last year, Today, co-hosted by Savannah Guthrie and Craig Melvin, was up 12 percent in total viewers but down 2 percent in the key demo.

Meanwhile, ABC’s Good Morning America averaged 2.786 million total viewers and 455,000 demo viewers for the just concluded week. Compared to the week before, the show was down 1 percent among total viewers but up 1 percent in the demo.

GMA, co-hosted by Robin Roberts, George Stephanopoulos, and Michael Strahan, had better news in the year-over-year comparison, with an increase of 6 percent in total viewers and 2 percent in the key demo.

I can’t watch CBS mornings anymore. I think Tony made a big mistake leaving and I cannot stand to watch Gail King. I only like Nate. CBS News has changed so much even the local news in St. Louis Missouri every day there’s new people on that station.

I watch ABC News. I won't watch CBS only if I have a fav pm program. It's MGMT fault. And I tell people why.
