‘The Price Is Right’ Fans Share What Changes They Want Made to Season 55
The Price Is Right ended its 54th season on June 26, but fans are already thinking about the next season. Season 55 won’t start until September, but Reddit users want these changes made.
“What are some changes or new features you would like to see next season?” the original poster asked. They had some ideas of their own before opening up the discussion further.
One idea is that they want an episode where they give away cars for every prize, just like they do with money for All-Cash Fridays. “Agree with all cars day. I’m disappointed they got rid of dream car week,” a fan agreed.
“More diversity of cars as prizes,” another said.
“I agree with the car days!” a third added. However, one fan said an all-cars game wouldn’t work because they couldn’t fit that many in the studio at one time.
They also want the rules changes on Double Showcase Winners. If a contestant’s bid for their Showcase is $500 or less from the actual retail price, they win both Showcases. Another fan wants the game show to pay cash to the winner of the Showcase to cover taxes, but a third chimed in and said they’d also have to pay taxes on the cash.
The original poster wants there to be higher amounts on Punch-a-Bunch as well as a new look, such as LED lights on the side. They also want a $1 million game to return. However, other fans said they think it should be raised to $100,000 or make the prizes “cumulative.” So far, The Lion’s Share is the game with the highest amount possible to win — $500,000.
Other Reddit users said they wish the show would spend less time on “hyped-up contestants” and more time on games. “We know you want them high energy, but it’s gotten out of hand,” one said.
“Agree with this,” a fan replied.
“I’d like to see secret bidding on bidders’ row. The issue would arise if two contestants bid the same amount,” another said.
To add to that, a fan said, “When you get called down, and you’re ready to place your bid, you don’t say your bid, but you write it down instead so it’s more fair. I always hated when someone would bid 1 dollar over someone else’s. Or ‘1 dollar Drew.'”
“The show needs a major overhaul, including scrapping several games if they’re not going to change them,” one last fan said. A fan suggested bringing back Superball. Others said Time is Money should be retired and 3 Strikes should change its rules.

I would like to see fairness. No separation of names drawn. Everyone’s name in the same lottery to be drawn and called to come on down. No more seperating races to make sure certain people are called.

Have Drew stop saying the Donut thing when they spin the wheel it's so annoying. Nobody ever goes for a donut.

I, too, would love them to change the way they bid on Contestants Row. Contestants coming last in the rotation have an unfair advantage and often use it with their bidding a dollar over. Games I'd like them to jettison are Lucky 7, 3 Strikes (Has anyone ever won that game?), and That's Too Much. And I'd love them to bring back Pay the Rent. That is a challenging, but winnable game.

In wake of America's longest running daytime Game Show reaching it's 55th season, I say that legendary rock & roll musician Sammy Hagar should make an appearance on the 55th season premier because one of his well known solo hits is "I Can't Drive 55" and being the start of it's 55th season would tie into the celebration of it's new season!

We seen lots of dream cars on Golden Road. Always include a third car, which is always a dream car on the pricing game "Triple Play". I would love to see the Balloons and confetti to rain down on the dream car accompanied by clangs and whoomps everytime three cars including a dream car are won in Triple Play.

I still want to see pay the rent come back and I think they should change the way they play master key that's a very unfair advantage and bring triple play and do more night time shows and seriously make drew come out of the audience there is no reason that drew can't do it bob barker did it

I would love to see balloons and confetti to rain down on stage everytime a dream car is won on Golden Road.
