What To Know

  • The View achieved its highest second quarter ratings in six years.
  • The show saw significant growth among women aged 25-54 and 18-49.
  • These ratings gains come as The View faces an FCC investigation over equal-time election laws.

Looks like a lot of TV viewers are taking in The View.

Nielsen figures show the ABC daytime talk show just charted its most-watched second quarter in six years, with an average of 2.6 million viewers, 3% more than its Q2 average in 2025, according to TheWrap.

In this year’s second quarter, The View ranked as the top daytime network talk show in several key demos, the outlet added. Its total viewership surpassed that of NBC’s Today 3rd Hour (2 million viewers), Today With Jenna & Sheinelle (1.4 million), and NBC News Daily (1.3 million).

Plus, The View’s household rating averaged 1.7, better than that of Today 3rd Hour (1.31) and Today With Jenna & Sheinelle and NBC News Daily (both with 0.9).

The View also increased its viewership among young and middle-aged women in the second quarter. The show averaged 221,000 women ages 25 to 54, an 11% gain from Q2 2025, and 168,000 women ages 18 to 49, a 14% gain.

For the season to date, The View has gained 8% in viewership among women ages 25 to 54 and 6% in viewership among women age 18 to 49 since last season, marking its strongest ratings in three years and becoming the only daytime talk show to grow in those key demos, TheWrap reports.

The View‘s recent interview with Vice President JD Vance was also its most-watched telecast since November 2024’s post-election episode, luring 3.331 million viewers for the segment.

The View’s ratings gains come amid a showdown with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), which has been investigating whether the show has violated “equal-time” election laws, per Variety. In late June, ABC started airing a TV spot inviting users to message the FCC to support Disney’s petition to have the commission categorize The View as a bona fide news interview program and thus make it exempt from the equal-time requirements.

They complain, as I do because the administration is so bad. They love their country as I do and once this time period in history is over, hopefully things will roll back to normal…hopefully.

How is this possible? I can't believe people actually watch this show. When Whoopi said black people in America have as bad as women in the middle east I couldn't believe it.

Freedom of speech. We do not need to agree with each other, but we do need to respect others rights to express their opinions. If we listen to each other with open minds, we may learn something.
