Dutton Ranch

Season Finale

If Yellowstone icons Beth (Kelly Reilly) and Rip (Cole Hauser) thought that moving to Texas would put family feuds behind them, they have been sorely disabused throughout the spinoff’s first season. Rio Paloma’s Jackson family, led by the formidable Beulah (Annette Bening), is fracturing after the matriarch named her bad-seed son Rob-Will (Jai Courtney) as her successor. With corrupt practices at the 10 Petal Ranch now exposed, our favorite couple is waist-deep in intrigue as the Season 1 finale builds to a cliffhanger reminiscent of Dallas‘ “Who Shot J.R.?” heyday.

Silo

Season Premiere

The post-apocalyptic sci-fi drama returns for a third season that splits its focus between the far future, when Earth’s survivors are living deep underground in bunker-like silos with little knowledge of their history, and present-day “Before Times,” where, with eerie timeliness, the U.S. is engaged in a savage military conflict with Iran. In the Silo world, Juliette (Rebecca Ferguson) has returned home a hero, the only person ever to have ventured out into the world and survived, but she has no memory of her time in the neighboring silo. In the present day, Congressman Daniel Keene (Succession‘s Ashley Zukerman) seeks information about a retaliatory strike against Iran after a dirty bomb exploded in the nation’s capital.

A Capitol Fourth

Special

July 4th celebrations get an early start when the annual concert on the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol is presented a day earlier than usual. (PBS broadcasts an event from Colonial Williamsburg on Saturday, with a replay of the D.C. concert following at 10/9c.) Alfonso Ribeiro returns as host for the 250th-birthday event, featuring performances from Patti LaBelle, Kool & the Gang, country music stars Trace Adkins and Carly Pearce, with Alan Jackson from Nashville, plus cast members from Broadway’s Just in Time and soprano Angel Blue, with Jack Everly conducting the National Symphony Orchestra. The climactic fireworks display comes from Mount Vernon, home of the nation’s first president, George Washington, with singer Loren Allred (The Greatest Showman) performing.

Disney Celebrates America

Simulcast on Disney-owned platforms including Disney+, Hulu, National Geographic, Freeform, FX, ESPN, and ABC News Live, a 24-hour anniversary blowout begins with an hourlong America the Beautiful special featuring news anchor David Muir from inside the Statue of Liberty, which offers a new “Liberty Lights” illumination (10/9c). Brandi Carlile performs “America the Beautiful.” Coverage of a “Party Across America” (11:35 pm/10:35c) continues with Linsey Davis in New Orleans, and Lara Spencer and Sam Champion anchoring from New York City. A special edition of Nightline (12:37 am/11:37c) is followed by an overnight replay of Good Morning America‘s “50 States in 50 Weeks” coverage, lasting until a two-hour “Dawn in America” broadcast (5 am/4c) leads into a holiday edition of Good Morning America on July 4.

The Simpsons

The second of three exclusive Simpsons episodes this summer takes on a different hue — the black-and-white of film noir — in “Simpsley,” a broad parody of The Talented Mr. Ripley and its recent Netflix adaptation. Marge Bouvier is the con artist traveling to Italy to fetch deep-pocketed Seymour Skinner back home when she encounters (who else) a bumbling houseguest, Homer Simpsley.
