The Biggest America 250 Celebrations on TV & Streaming

As America turns 250 years old this July — on the anniversary of the adoption of the Declaration of Independence — the U.S.A. is ready for a Fourth of July party like no other. And across the television networks and streaming services, creators are joining in on the semiquincentennial celebrations with televised concerts, curated collections, and more.

Here’s a guide to how all of the major networks and streamers are celebrating America’s 250th.

Disney Celebrates America: Nashville’s Star-Spangled Bash (ABC, Freeform, FX, NatGeo, Disney+, ESPN+, and Hulu)

You can find this live showcase, which features a broad range of performers across the various music genres, on ABC, Freeform, FX, and NatGeo, as well as Disney+, ESPN’s app, and Hulu. The Great American Block Party 250 (CBS)

CBS is also hosting a set of live festivities with Tony Dokoupil and Entertainment Tonight star Nischelle Turner hosting the festivities from the Washington Monument. It airs July 4 at 8/7c coast-to-coast and will end with “the biggest fireworks show in history.” Performers will include the Zac Brown Band, Jon Batiste, the Goo Goo Dolls, and The War and Treaty.

America Made in Virginia: 250 Years Together (PBS)

PBS is hosting a salute to the nation from Colonial Williamsburg’s historic area on July 4, featuring “live performance, music, historic interpretation, and large-scale visual spectacle to create an inspiring national event.” It starts at 8/7c on PBS, PBS.org, and the PBS app and features appearances by Ken Burns, Richard Thomas, Michael Feldstein, Ryan Speedo Green, Kelli O’Hara, Adrienne Warren, and Judy Collins.

Independence Eve Live With Anderson & Andy: Celebrating 250 (CNN)

Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen will be bringing their New Year’s Eve energy to the occasion with this countdown special airing on CNN on July 3, starting at 8/7c and running through 12:30a/11:30c. And yes, there will be a ball drop. Performances will include Charlie Puth, Josh Groban, Kane Brown, the Goo Goo Dolls, Maren Morris, Rod Stewart, Lil Wayne, AJR, Kool & The Gang, and Chaka Khan.

America the Beautiful Collection (Paramount+)

Paramount+ has launched a curated collection in celebration of the anniversary, featuring titles like America’s National Parks at 100, Aerial America, America’s Hidden Stories, Battle of Midway: The True Story, and much more.

The American Experiment (Netflix)

Netflix rolled out its 250th anniversary event early, on July 24, with The American Experiment, a five-part docuseries on the nation’s founding that features commentaries from some of the most prominent current and former politicians of today’s era.

The Americas (NBC)

NBC’s The Americas will release a special episode devoted to the nation’s big birthday, titled The Americas: A Wild 250th. The episode will showcase “iconic American species whose deep connection to the land and the nation’s history have left an indelible mark on the country,” and premieres on July 2 at 9/8c on NBC.

Sail 4th 250 (NBC, Telemundo, NBC News Now, and Peacock)

NBC will also feature six hours of coverage called Sail4th 250 on July 4, starting at 7a/6c, covering the events taking place on the New York Harbor, which is expected to boast “the largest maritime and aerial gathering in U.S. history with tall ships, naval vessels, and aircraft from 46 nations.” It will air on NBC, Telemundo, NBC News NOW, and Peacock.

Americana 2026 (Pluto TV)

Pluto TV, a free ad-supported streaming service, is launching a collection of 250 films on Monday, June 29, to celebrate the occasion. The titles selected are described as “celebrating the people, places and stories that have shaped America on screen,” including war classics like Platoon and Saving Private Ryan, Westerns like True Grit and A Fistful of Dollars, and more.

USA 250 (Netflix)

Netflix has also curated a collection of streamable patriotic hits, including a few originals like Death By Lightning, Turning Point: 9/11 and the War on Terror, Da 5 Bloods, and The Six Triple Eight, along with other themed library additions.

Patriots and Plotters: Bill O’Reilly’s Unsung Heroes and Villains of the American Revolution (NewsNation)

NewsNation will run this one-hour special on July 2 at 9/8c. The description teases that the “special offers a compelling look at the people and events that defined our nation, bringing history to life for a new generation.”

Spirit of America (NewsNation)

NewsNation is also celebrating the occasion with a new series, launching June 29 on Morning in America, which features Brian Entin traveling through small towns and communities to cover hidden stories about “hard work, service, resilience, freedom, and opportunity that reflect the spirit of the nation.” The special will culminate on July 4 and air on NewsNation’s daytime and primetime programming as well as NewsNation and The Hill’s digital platforms.

America 250: Celebrating Freedom (Fox News)

Fox News is also running special coverage to honor the occasion on its main channel, Fox Business, Fox Nation, and apps, with coverage of Sail4th, the New York Times Square ball drop, and more. Its special, America 250: Celebrating Freedom, will air on July 4, starting at 7/6c.

US 250 (BBC)

The BBC’s coverage of July 4 will take place at the National Mall, with Carl Nasman anchoring, starting at 6/5c on BBC News.
