‘Camp Snoopy’ Sneak Peek: Charlie Brown’s Nickname Is Revealed (VIDEO)

Well, Barry Allen isn’t using the name anymore.

Season 2 of Apple TV’s musical Camp Snoopy drops on Friday, June 26, and according to the streamer, it’s all about enjoying the sights, sounds, and snacks of the season. TV Insider has an exclusive sneak peek above.

“Snoopy and the Beagle Scouts are looking forward to carefree time in the majestic landscape of Camp Spring Lake,” reads the release for the new batch of episodes. “Along with Charlie Brown and the rest of the Peanuts gang, join Snoopy and the birds as they hike, swim, and leap their way through another round of fun and adventure in the Great Outdoors, searching for the elusive hedge toad, building towering sandcastles and debating the merits of hot dogs versus hamburgers.”

In addition, it seems that the bestowing of nicknames is on the agenda. In this exclusive first-look clip from the season, Lucy proposes that they all give each other new monikers, “you know, as a fun camp-bonding thing.” Of course, she snags the least fitting nom de guerre (Snoopy’s giggle will always crack us up), while deep-cut Naomi points out that Pig-Pen and Peppermint Patty already have nicknames.

As for Chuck? Well, as you can see, his long-held hope of being called Flash falls flatter than he does after trying to kick that darn football. But hey, at least someone ends up getting to use it. And sharing is caring, right?

And don’t forget, two Peanuts classics from Mendelson/Melendez Productions are heading to Apple TV starting next week. On July 3, the first-ever animated miniseries in TV history, 1988’s This is America, Charlie Brown, will drop just in time for the country’s big 250th. Then, on July 10, we get The Charlie Brown and Snoopy Show, which ran from 1983 to ’86 on CBS’s Saturday mornings.

Camp Snoopy, Season 2 Premiere, Friday, June 26, Apple TV.
