Kelly Ripa Honors Mark Consuelos’ Late Dad in Sweet Father’s Day Tribute

Kelly Ripa paid tribute to her late father-in-law, Saul Consuelos, on the first Father’s Day since his death.

The Live With Kelly and Mark co-host honored her loved ones in a sweet Father’s Day Instagram post on Sunday, June 21. “Let’s hear it for the DADS today!” she captioned the upload. “These three have impacted our lives so greatly, and especially dad Consuelos who lives on in our memories and in our hearts.”

Kelly’s post featured a slideshow of photos of her father, Joseph Ripa, her husband, Mark Consuelos, and his father, Saul. The slideshow also featured several photos of all three dads spending time together and with Kelly and Mark’s three kids — Michael, Lola, and Joaquin.

Fans flooded the post’s comments with supportive messages for Kelly and Mark’s family. “Mr. Consuelos, Senior. A gentleman and a scholar. He lives on in all of you,” one user wrote. Another added, “Kelly — Your Dad raise a precious daughter!!! Enjoy him and talk to him as often as you can. I am praying for Mark as he is having to experience his first Father’s Day without his Dad. My Daddy went to be with Jesus many years ago but I miss him every single day.”

Someone else wrote, “Kelly, You and Mark have such Handsome Father’s! My heart goes out to Mark as he experiences the first Father’s Day without his Father.” A different person posted, “Happy Fathers Day Mark! You were raised with the best worth ethic and putting your family first. I love that about you. You are amazing and one of a kind. Your family is very blessed to have you!”

A separate commenter wrote, “You are fortunate to have such wonderful memories with meaningful pictures to reminisce with. Special family!”

On the April 6 episode of Live, Mark announced that his dad had died two weeks prior, following “a long bout with an illness.” At the time, Kelly told her husband, “We have been blessed. You have been blessed more because you knew him your whole life. I only got to know my father-in-law for 31 years, but they were the best 31 years of my life. I can honestly say that I will miss him every day for the rest of my life, as I know you will, as our children will. He was the greatest person I’ve ever known, and he really is so symbolic of everything you are.”

Mark reflected on Saul’s life, telling viewers, “He came here from Mexico in his early teens. He immigrated here from Mexico. He served his country for 30 years, ended up at Special Operations Command in Tampa. This young kid from Mexico just got his education through the Navy, was always going to school, brilliant, got his master’s [degree], while I was a kid. He loved this country so much. He loved this country so much. He really is, I would say, an example. If you put a face to an immigrant, he would be the prime example of what this country promises people here in this country. And he raised three pretty good kids.”

Kelly went on to tell Mark, “You’re the strongest person I know. You continually inspire me every day. And all of the good things that I love about you, I loved those same things about your dad, really. So, I just want to say thank you, Dad, for everything you gave to us.”

Kelly paid tribute to Saul on Instagram shortly after, sharing a slideshow of photos from his life. “Simply the best. You will be in our hearts everyday. RIP Saul Consuelos 1938-2026,” she captioned the April 7 upload.
