Ryan Seacrest Makes Surprise Cameo on ‘Live’ 3 Years After Hosting Exit

Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos kicked off Live With Kelly and Mark‘s 2026 Halloween episode with a surprise guest.

The show’s Friday, October 30, episode began with a fun skit themed to the blockbuster hit Spider-Man: Brand New Day, featuring Consuelos as the titular hero and Ripa as Florence Pugh‘s Yelena Belova. While the pair were up in the air, swinging across New York City and climbing a building, Ryan Seacrest was down on the ground, reporting on the episode.

“Good morning, everybody! It’s me, Ryan Seacrest! Look familiar?” Seacrest said enthusiastically. “Don’t adjust your dials. This morning, Live is turning Times Square into Times Scare for the very first Halloween Shockin’ Eve. And we’re standing by for the very best Halloween hosts in the business, who should be swinging by anytime now.”

Seacrest checked his Spidey Tracker as Consuelos and Ripa’s superheroes met on a rooftop. After holding up a sign promoting Live‘s Halloween episode, the couple jumped off the building and swung through New York City, saying hello to Seacrest as they passed by.

“Hey, guys! Have a great show! And tell [Michael] Gelman I miss his nuts,” Seacrest shouted, much to the duo’s disgust. “Eww!” Ripa exclaimed, while Consuelos added, “That’s disgusting.”

Seacrest clarified, “No, the snack! The mixed nuts he used to share with me!” Consuelos, however, said the request was “still disgusting.”

The episode marked a rare appearance for Seacrest on the daytime talk show. The American Idol star replaced Michael Strahan as Ripa’s Live co-host in 2017. He led the series, titled Live With Kelly and Ryan, with Ripa until his exit in 2023, after which Consuelos became his wife’s co-host.

Seacrest was one of several celebrities who made surprise cameos during Live‘s Halloween Shockin’ Eve episode, including Andy Cohen, Zach Braff, Donald Faison, Lisa Rinna, Jerry O’Connell, Alan Cumming, Jackie Tohn, and more.

Ripa, Consuelos, and the Live crew sported dozens of different costumes throughout the episode, such as Lady Gaga and Bad Bunny from the 2026 Super Bowl Halftime Show, Nikki (Inde Navarrette) and Bear (Michael Johnston) from Obsession, squishy toys, Penelope (Anne Hathaway) and Odysseus (Matt Damon) from The Odyssey, Elizabeth Holmes and Mark Ballas, New York Knicks trash cans, Ilya (Connor Storrie) and Shane (Hudson Williams) from Heated Rivalry, and Toy Story characters.

Live also hosted its annual audience member costume contest. The lucky winner, dressed as a giant Godzilla, took home a seven-night cruise for four to the Caribbean on the Disney Treasure, valued at $15,000.
