What To Know

  • Kirsten Storms publicly addressed the restraining order filed against her by ex-husband Brandon Barash.
  • Storms insisted that reports of her calling police about a break-in after the restraining order are false.
  • The actress expressed uncertainty about returning to General Hospital amid the drama.

Kirsten Storms took to social media late Sunday night (June 7) to address the recent restraining order filed against her by her ex-husband and former General Hospital co-star, Brandon Barash.

The soap star shared a lengthy statement in a carousel of Instagram posts, noting how the topic was “difficult to address” and writing, “I’m sure some of you guys have read the stories online regarding a situation involving something my ex-husband is currently trying to claim.”

In April, Barash obtained an emergency restraining order against Storms after he claimed she was suffering from a mental health crisis. Barash said he feared for their 12-year-old daughter’s well-being after Storms was exhibiting concerning behavior. Barash and Storms divorced in 2016, and the former got remarried in 2025.

Storms addressed a “story online stating I reported the apartment break-in AFTER he filed something against me in court,” claiming that “the records/evidence will show those stories are completely false.”

It seems the actress was referring to a TMZ report which alleged Storms called the police about a break-in “months after ex granted protective order.”

Storms said she reported the break-in to the building and the Franklin PD before Barash filed anything in court. She said this situation needed to be addressed because “It puts my safety in a dangerous position for anyone to try and shift focus away from the fact that there was a person regularly entering my residence while I was out of town.”

In his court order, Barash claimed that Storms called him in November 2025 and told him that people were breaking into her apartment, removing items, and putting them in her car to “mess with her.” He also said in a previous call that Storms told him she was “experiencing delusions and hallucinations.”

Storms continued to argue that the break-ins were real and were reported before Barash’s restraining order. She cited a previous post about the damage to the lock on her apartment door, which she took in August of last year.

“I waited to post about the break-in on my Instagram for a few months. I had already moved out of the building and honestly, it’s been something that is difficult to accept happened pretty much as soon as I moved out here,” she stated.

Storms, who took a break from General Hospital last year, said she hasn’t been online much “because of how the circumstances have been twisted into something that it shouldn’t be,” adding, “This has been a very serious thing for me to go through.”

As for her future on the ABC soap, Storms said, “Given what’s been going on, I can’t say I will feel comfortable heading back to Los Angeles and returning to work. This has been an eye opening experience about the downside of my profession. My daughter is my entire life, she is (and always will be) my first priority.”

I’ve had my share of this type of man & understand how they can be! Abuse is abuse whether physically, mental or emotionally. It’s very low man to put a child in the middle of it. I’m praying Kristen can get this resolved ASAP and feel safe enough to return to GH because there’s only one Maxie but totally understand if if she can’t. But Barash needs to grow up and leave her alone learn to work within the parameters of the law and whatever is best for his daughter and Kristen to have a decent relationship with them. Petty revenge isn’t the answer.
