‘Outlander’: A Complete Timeline of Fergus & Marsali’s Love Story

Though Claire (Caitriona Balfe) and Jamie’s (Sam Heughan) epic love story has anchored Outlander for eight seasons, fans have loved Fergus (César Domboy) and Marsali (Lauren Lyle) for nearly as long. When Outlander jumped 20 years at the start of Season 3, we found that the Parisian pickpocket who Jamie adopted in Season 2 was all grown up. That wasn’t the only surprise: Fergus had fallen in love with Marsali, the daughter of Jamie’s former wife, Laoghaire (Nell Hudson).
Fergus and Marsali didn’t grow up together, and Jamie left Laoghaire when Claire returned, so we’ve elected to ignore the whole sort-of step-siblings thing. Their romance became one of the show’s most wholesome relationships once they moved from Scotland to America. (Beware of Outlander Season 8 spoilers ahead!)
