One of Giada De Laurentiis‘ latest social media posts has Food Network fans feeling old.
On Sunday, March 29, De Laurentiis took to Instagram to celebrate her daughter, Jade, officially becoming a legal adult. “I blinked and woke up with an 18 year old this morning,” the Food Network star wrote. “So thankful to spend your last week of being 17 with you Jadey. Your wit, kindness, beauty, laughter, I am forever in awe of who you have become.”
She concluded the heartfelt birthday tribute by writing, “You are my greatest gift- I love you more than you will ever know! Happy birthday Jadeyy!!!!”
De Laurentiis’ post featured several photos of herself and Jade on a recent beach getaway. In addition to soaking up the sun, the mother-daughter duo enjoyed several delicious meals and partied with friends.
De Laurentiis welcomed her only child in 2008 with her ex-husband, Todd Thompson. The pair were married from 2003 to 2014 and finalized their divorce the following year.
Thompson hopped into the comments of De Laurentiis’ post to send Jade a sweet birthday message. “We have an Amazing Girl/Young Women,” he gushed.

Fans also flooded the comments with their own birthday well-wishes. “My daughter turns 18 in August. It’s so bittersweet. Nothing like that mother-daughter relationship. Happy Birthday Jade!” one user wrote. Another added, “Happy birthday Jade! She is your twin! What a sweet talented girl.”
Someone else shared, “Happy Happy Birthday, Jadie!!! May the year ahead be the very best and most harmonious yet!.” A different person posted, “Gorgeous. You both!!! Happy birthday to her.” A separate user commented, “I still remember baby Jade in your early shows.”
Jade, for her part, commemorated her birthday by sharing a throwback photo of her birth. “I was born 18 years ago pretty crazy!” she wrote alongside an Instagram snap of De Laurentiis and Thompson smiling with their newborn.
Before De Laurentiis shared her birthday tribute, Jade appeared in more of her mother’s Instagram vacation photos. “You and me, Jadey!” De Laurentiis captioned a Thursday, March 26, post featuring snaps of the two of them floating in the ocean in St. Barts.

De Laurentiis and Jade were joined on the trip by friends and De Laurentiis’ boyfriend, Shane Farley. “I present my ‘vacation hair,’” De Laurentiis wrote alongside more Instagram pics on Friday, March 27.
Among the Friday post’s slides are several photos of the group out on the sea aboard a luxurious boat. De Laurentiis also captured a snap of her and Farley lying in front of a picturesque ocean video, as well as a selfie they took with Jade and a friend while riding in an open-top car.
