Bridgerton‘s fourth season may take its main inspiration from Cinderella, but early on in production, star Yerin Ha cited another swoonworthy piece of media as having some influence over costar Luke Thompson‘s onscreen appearance as Benedict.

When TV Insider asked Ha in October 2024 about any pop culture inspirations playing a role in Benedict and Sophie’s love story, she said, “It’s funny because there was a scene, and I literally said to Luke, ‘You’re giving Mr. Darcy vibes, 100 percent.’ So I guess Pride and Prejudice for me… I don’t think the showrunners are thinking that, but for me, I’m thinking Pride and Prejudice.”

Now, more than a year later, Ha is offering a follow-up to her Darcy vibes application after Swooon asks her about which onscreen Darcy she was thinking of and which scene she attached that sentiment to. The response may surprise some.
