All About ‘General Hospital’ Icon Anthony Geary’s Husband Claudio Gama

The world of soaps lost one of its most beloved titans when Anthony Geary, best known for playing Luke Spencer on General Hospital for decades, died on December 14, 2025, at the age of 78. Two months later, General Hospital will pay tribute to the soap icon in a special episode that will air on February 20.

Geary’s husband, Claudio Gama, confirmed the actor’s death to TV Insider. “It was a shock for me and our families and our friends. For more than 30 years, Tony has been my friend, my companion, my husband,” Gama said in a statement. The eight-time Daytime Emmy winner died following complications from an operation.
