‘The Paper’ vs. ‘The Office’: Stars of Peacock’s Spinoff Play Would You Rather (VIDEO)
What To Know
- The stars of The Paper play a game of Would You Rather: The Paper vs. The Office edition.
- See where Chelsea Frei, Ramona Young, Melvin Gregg, and Eric Rahill stand when it comes to different scenarios.
- Watch as they answer questions like, would you rather make a sales pitch or pitch an article?
The Paper‘s broadcast run continues on NBC, and the Peacock original is quickly becoming a comedy classic like its predecessor, The Office, which makes it the perfect time to put the cast to the test as they play a round of Would You Rather: The Paper vs. The Office edition.
In the fun video interview above, stars Chelsea Frei, Eric Rahill, Melvin Gregg, and Ramona Young, who portray Toledo Truth Teller employees Mare, Travis, Detrick, and Nicole, sitting down with TV Insider and offer their takes on various “would you rather” scenarios. That includes: Would you rather make a sales pitch or pitch an article? Would you rather attend the Dundies or the Ohio Journalism Awards? Would you rather be stuck on a road trip with Michael Scott (Steve Carell) or Esmeralda Grand (Sabrina Impacciatore)?
As viewers have learned from tuning in, The Paper chronicles the day-to-day work of Toledo Truth Teller‘s local reporters as they’re followed around by the same documentary crew that tracked The Office‘s Dunder Mifflin. But unlike Dunder Mifflin selling literal paper, the Toledo Truth Teller crew is striving to create a paper worth reading.

So, which job sounds more daunting to The Paper‘s stars? “I’d rather pitch an article,” Young admits, despite her costar Gregg’s initial response that he’d like to pitch a sale.
Her answer has Gregg changing his as he revises, “I think I’d rather pitch an article, too.”
“I’m really bad at selling stuff,” Young admits. “I can’t convince someone to buy something even if I like the object.”
That answer appears to ring true for Frei, who echoes, “I would definitely rather pitch an article. I think Mare would be a terrible salesman, just like I would be a terrible salesman.”
“I would rather do an article,” Rahill confirms. “I’m five years older than my brother, and until I was 18, I had him call if we ever ordered pizza. I was too scared to talk to the people.”
With The Paper side easily prevailing in this first question, see where the cast stands on other “would you rather” scenarios in the full video above, which includes commentary on potential couples, TV scandals, and more.
