Things are getting steamy on A&E as the network is set to debut its upcoming docuseries, Secrets of Celebrity Sex Tapes, featuring a deep dive into some of the entertainment industry’s most scandalous caught-on-camera hook-ups.

Premiering on Monday, September 8, at 9 pm ET, with back-to-back episodes, the eight-episode series will explore some of the most infamous celeb sex tapes, including Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee, Kim Kardashian, Colin Farrell, Farrah Abraham, and Mimi Faust. Viewers will hear the story behind each tape, the public and media reaction, and how they altered the lives of those involved.

“Celebrity sex tapes, once scandalous tabloid fodder, now stand as unfiltered snapshots of eras that sparked public fascination and profound shifts in pop culture,” reads the official A&E description.

It continues, “The exposure of these deeply intimate and private moments not only reshaped the cultural landscape, pushing boundaries and sparking backlash, but also became turning points in the lives of those who were featured in them, catapulting some into fame while derailing others.”

The series will feature exclusive interviews from some of the celebrities involved, in addition to never-before-heard secrets and shocking details that shed light on the dark side of pop culture to unpack the public’s response to scandal, consent, sexism, sexuality, racism, and homophobia.

“They featured some of the most iconic moments that have propelled pop culture forward and a little backward,” a voice-over says in the trailer.

The teaser clip also highlighted other celebrities leaking their tapes after “it worked for Kim [Kardashian],” as well as the double standards in reactions to Anderson’s tape, with her being called “a sl*t” and Tommy Lee being called “a stud.”

Anderson previously opened up about her leaked sex tape in her 2023 Netflix documentary Pamela, a Love Story, where she revealed the trauma related to the tape made her “sick” and almost cost her her career.

“I blocked that stolen tape out of my life in order to survive, and now that it’s all coming up again, I feel sick,” she said in the doc. “I was the punchline of jokes on a lot of talk shows. It was super-humiliating.”

The Baywatch star added, “If [the public] fall in love with you one way that’s it… after that it just solidified the cartoon image of me, you become a character. I think that was the deterioration of whatever image I had.”

Jeremiah Murphy serves as executive producer, showrunner, and director on the upcoming series. Elaine Frontain Bryant, Brad Abramson and Maitee Cuvea are also exec producers for A&E.
