[Warning: The below contains MAJOR spoilers for S.W.A.T. Season 7 Episode 2 “Peace Talks.”]

S.W.A.T. is temporarily down two of its members in its final season, with original cast members Kenny Johnson (Dominique Luca) and Alex Russell (Jim Street) no longer series regulars and now recurring. They were noticeably missing from the opening credits in the premiere, but with that episode focused on Hondo (Shemar Moore), Hicks (Patrick St. Esprit), and Powell (Anna Enger Ritch) in Mexico. The second episode, however, brings in two more members of the team, and gives us some answers.

When Tan (David Lim) gets to work, he tells Deacon (Jay Harrington) that Luca blending his morning smoothie is his alarm clock, and with him away, he overslept. “Long Beach S.W.A.T. have given Street the nickname Hollywood, but he says he’s whipping them into shape,” he adds. “And Luca’s loving London, sounds like he’s enjoying the night life more than the counter-terrorism training. He should stay there a few more weeks, to be honest.”

Does that mean being roommates isn’t working out? The only problem for Tan is that even after a night out, “every morning’s bootcamp,” up at 6 a.m. for a five-mile uphill run, an hour at the gym, and a 20-minute ice bath. Deacon explains that at his, Hondo, and Luca’s age, you push yourself to the limit to maintain peak condition.

Both Johnson and Russell have addressed their reduced roles in the final season on social media. “I’m so very thankful for having had the opportunity to bring Jim Street to life and for having shared this incredible experience with my SWAT family – it’s been a blast. All of us at SWAT are forever grateful to each and every fan for making our amazing job possible,” Russell wrote on Instagram. “I know in this final season, we’ll give you the grand finish you deserve and don’t worry, you haven’t seen the last of Jim Street yet!”

Johnson shared, alongside photos from over the years, that his character “was given a beautiful bittersweet send off, and it got to include my daughter Jelli aka ‘Kelly.'” He also posted videos with Moore of the two of them finishing up his last episode, the seventh of the season, and documenting his final days on the show on February 20 with a series of photos. Check out those posts below.

“Every character is going to get their moments to shine in these final episodes,” Moore previously told TV Insider. “They’re all going to get their own stories where they’re the A story, and they have to deal with circumstances, and then the rest of the team has to come to their aid.” We’ll have to see how that factors into how the show says goodbye to Street and Luca.

Do not cut Swat. Such an amazing show. These shows are few and far between. If cuts to shows must be made, take off the stupid reality shows.

Problem is, a show you think is stupid is a show that someone else thinks is great. And there are people who think SWAT is a "stupid" show. So....

I didn't think the show was going to be good since I remembered the original series but I loved it and sorry to see it go away like the other great series that were on CBS. I don't trust CBS now. All this getting you hooked in a show then wonder will it still be around next season.

Love all the cast on S.W.A.T why must this show go. Killing a show just so studios can axe writers that dare to go on strike, is a bit cutting your nose to spite your face

I think CBS lacks a lot of knowledge. WHYYYYY would you cut one of the best shows EVER. It literally makes no sense. I hope another station picks up the show because clearly CBS isn't the best place for SWAT smh.

Not happy, Jim Street is my favorite charactor.

Last season surely they could have let them finish as a team.

The 2 best characters on the show too. At least Shemar got his wish and bullied another season out of CBS. Ugh

No one bullied anyone into anything . The 2 characters were barely on screen

Every character on this show is awesome. All great actors, no reason to end something that has great ratings and great plots. Maybe someone else can bring it back. If the original director doesn't want it. Look at what happened with live PD, A&E did not want it no more. So Reelz picked it up, and everything has turned out great. Maybe that's what needs to happen with the show. Definitely needs to be continued, too good of a show to stop

Should be more than 7 seasons. Why end a show that's so good?

Interesting little info-dump they gave at the beginning of this episode... just to explain where the various characters were now, and why they wouldn't be on the series at the end.

Great show! Hate to see it end. Should have gone on a few more seasons. They have such garbage on TV anymore. This show is a true gem.

I think that this is one of the best shows that ever came out. I think it is good enough to be like Law and Order. Law and Order is great, SWAT is awesome too. Maybe Dick Wolf could continue another chapter of the show. Keep a lot of the same characters but add some new people too. This show is too good to stop, it must continue like Law and Order did SVU and organize crime. They should do that too. It's a shame to end such a great show. Come on Dick Wolf make SWAT a part of a new show with Hondo, Luca, Street, Hicks and tan. It can't end now too good too

I think it’s a shame that all the cast could not finish the show all together and Luca and street were written out earlier. The whole thought process was to give the fans a satisfying conclusion

I think exactly the same as everyone else. You always take the good shows off and keep the stupid shows that are not suitable to watch with our children. CBS needs to keep shows like SWAT and Blue Bloods that are actually good storylines for us to watch as a family!

Get rid of the stupid game shows, reality bull crap shows. Put back on the shows we love with characters we have come to love. We will miss Swat.
