‘Ms. Christmas Comes to Town’ Sneak Peek: Erica Durance’s Blind Date Has a Twist (VIDEO)
It looks like Christmas magic is working in Amanda’s (Erica Durance) favor, even if she might not realize it yet, this year in Hallmark Movies & Mysteries‘ Ms. Christmas Comes to Town. In TV Insider’s exclusive sneak peek ahead of the October 26 premiere (kicking off the Miracles of Christmas event), Amanda is ready to give her blind date a try… but there’s something she doesn’t know about the man sitting across from her.
Amanda approaches Travis (Brennan Elliott) and immediately introduces herself in the clip. “Normally, I don’t go for setups, but Emily spoke so highly of you, and she’s managed to stay married to the same man for over a decade and is mother to a daughter I absolutely adore, so I figure maybe she knows something the rest of us don’t,” she explains.
She then gets right down to business, listing things he should know about her: “I am currently single — obviously, I’m on a blind date — never married, and I’m looking for someone special. This is a very hectic time of year for me job-wise and, from my perspective, the worst time, not just for me but for anyone, to enter into any new relationship, but having said that, I do believe that Christmas is a time of magic where even the impossible becomes possible.”
Travis asks if she always puts herself out there like she is, and she admits, “Never. You must bring out the best in me.” But then the blind date takes a turn. Watch the full sneak peek above to see what happens next — and who keeps Amanda’s attention.
Ms. Christmas Comes to Town follows what could be a home shopping television host’s (Barbara Niven‘s Gale Storm) last Christmas, so she sets out on the ultimate farewell tour. After receiving a terminal diagnosis, Gale decides to sign-off as Ms. Christmas on her own terms and retire. But since the network is concerned about her on this tour, it insists on having travel nurse Travis join her. Amanda is Gale’s director of operations — and her hand-picked successor she dubs Ms. Holiday — but unaware of her diagnosis. That means that Travis poses as the network head’s godson coming along to learn the business. And they might not be the only ones to find some romance over the holidays — Gale’s former fiancé James (Mark Brandon) is going to be showing up.
