Nickelodeon's animated TV movie ALBERT

Finally, the Charlie Brown Christmas tree isn’t the only sad sap in the holiday-movie genre! This Friday, Nickelodeon decks the halls with Albert, its new Christmas tale about a less-than-majestic Douglas fir. But unlike the Peanuts gang’s gangly twig, this little guy plans to become kind of a big deal by being named Empire City’s star Christmas tree.

Starring SNL‘s Bobby Moynihan as the titular topiary, the CG-animated hour—which could totally be subtitled The Secret Life of Plants—also features Moynihan’s costar Sasheer Zamata as Albert’s palm-tree bestie Maisie, 30 Rock‘s Judah Friedlander as Gene the sarcastic weed and chronic guest star Rob Riggle (Son of Zorn, New Girl, Drunk History) as Cactus Pete.
