Based on short stories by Cecelia Ahern, the eight-episode season is set to arrive all at once on Friday, April 15. A darkly comedic series, Roar is made up of feminist fables for today’s world, spanning genres that range from magical realism to psychological horror. Each standalone installment has its own quirks as every story focuses on ordinary women in extraordinary circumstances.

Among the things viewers can expect based on the trailer, below, is for women to eat photographs, date ducks, and live on shelves like trophies among other things. Despite these seemingly bizarre circumstances, their struggles are universal.

Along with the core cast leading these tales, there’s plenty of other great talent attached to the show including Nick Kroll, Simon Baker, Jake Johnson, Ego Nwodim, Daniel Dae Kim, Hugh Dancy, and many more. Along with co-creators Flahive and Mensch and star Kidman, Roar is executive produced by Per Saari, Bruna Papandrea, Steve Hutensky, Allie Goss, Cecilia Ahern, and Theresa Park.

Don’t miss the first look, below, and stay tuned for the arrival of Roar on Apple TV+ this April.
