Kevin Costner is paying homage to Yellowstone. And no, not the series. The Yellowstone star is teaming up with FOX Nation on a four-part documentary series titled Yellowstone: One-Fifty.

The series will commemorate Yellowstone National Park’s 150 years and will stream on FOX Nation. The docuseries was announced on the park’s 150th anniversary on March 1. It will be developed by Costner’s Territory Pictures Entertainment and Warm Springs Productions.

“The new series will launch in the fourth quarter of 2022 and consist of four one-hour episodes focused on the history and wildlife of Yellowstone National Park,” Jason Klarman, FOX Nation President, announced in a statement.

“Yellowstone: One-Fifty will be narrated and hosted by Costner,” the statement continued, “with episodes to be released consecutively on the platform throughout its debut week. Territory Partner Rod Lake will executive produce as well as Marc Pierce for Warm Springs Productions.”

In Yellowstone, Costner plays rancher John Dutton who owns a massive chunk of land in Montana.

He spars with people trying to take his land every season, including the Indigenous people of Montana (led by Gil Birmingham), who are trying to get their land back. The show is one of the few TV dramas providing a modern look at the lives and struggles of Native Americans.

Yellowstone: One-Fifty isn’t Costner’s first project influenced by his Paramount Network series. The Academy Award and Emmy-winning actor is also executive producing Onward, a docuseries showcasing Indigenous cultures around the world and their rich histories.

The series is based on Cale Glendening’s documentary film of the same name, which showcased his time with the Kazakh-Mongolia eagle hunters in the remote Altai Mountains of Mongolia. Each episode of Onward will focus on a different community and how they’ve survived decades of existential threats.

Yellowstone Seasons 1-3 are available for streaming on Peacock. Yellowstone Season 4 will be added to Peacock March 28. Its spinoff series, 1883, streams exclusively on Paramount+.
