It’s official, the 2022 Oscars will have a host, or rather, three, as Amy Schumer, Regina Hall, and Wanda Sykes helm the 94th annual event.

Host-less for the last three years, the Academy Awards are making up for lost time with the comedic trio who are aiming to bring viewers some fun. “We want people to get ready to have a good time. It’s been a while,” said Hall, Schumer, and Sykes in a joint statement.

The gig marks a big moment in Oscar history as it will be the first time three women have hosted the ceremony. Prior to the hosting dry spell over the past three years, Jimmy Kimmel was the last person to hold the coveted position.

But is bringing hosts back into the mix the right thing for this long-debated format? Over the years, the Oscars have lost steam with viewers as fewer and fewer fan-favorite films align with the nominations, and with less reason to tune in, the ratings have continued to drop. Perhaps these funny ladies could turn it around though?

And considering newly-introduced fan-voted categories Favorite Movie 0f 2021 and Most Cheer-Worthy Movie Moment Ever. Could this new element also bring viewers to the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood when March 27 rolls around? Only time will tell for certain.

But we want to hear from you. Let us know what you think of the hosting situation by casting a vote in our reader poll and sounding off in the comments section, below.
