Disney Junior and Fathom Events Team to Premiere ‘Mickey and the Roadster Racers’ In Movie Theaters (VIDEO)
If you’ve been reluctant to take your preschooler to the movies, we completely understand. It’s hard for your squirmy little one to sit through an 80-minute animated feature with unfamiliar characters in a dark, unfamiliar environment.
Disney Junior and Fathom Events are teaming up to help alleviate at least part of the difficulty of taking your kid to the movies: On Saturday, November 12, the two companies will premiere “Disney Junior at the Movies – Mickey’s BIG Celebration,” which will take place at 400 movie theaters in a one-time-only showing at 10 am (local time). Included in the screening will be the premiere of a new show, Mickey and the Roadster Racers, along with episodes of the channel’s favorite shows, including Elena of Avalor, Doc McStuffins, Sofia the First, The Lion Guard and others.

Here’s a trailer that explains things a little further:
The goal is to get preschoolers used to sitting in a theater by showing their favorite characters on the big screen in episode-length chunks. Sounds like a good idea to us, though the thought of a theater full of kids singing “Time for your check-up!” is bound to generate some sleepless parental nights in the days leading to the event.
But it’s all in good fun and maybe your little one won’t squirm as much when you go see that next Pixar film.
You can purchase tickets for the event at Fathom’s website.
