‘Love Is Blind’ Star Morrey Eglin Defends Benita Paloja After ‘Love Bombing’ Claims
While Morrey Eglin didn’t find his “Love Story” in the pods, the certified Swiftie caught everyone’s attention following his now-viral reaction to what he called “love bombing.” When Morrey sat down with Swooon, he broke down his response to Benita Paloja’s affection and revealed which Taylor Swift songs he would use to describe his Love Is Blind journey.
In the pods, Morrey connected with both Benita and Sarah Williams. However, he felt that Benita moved way too fast, way too soon. During the first episode, she told him that she was putting all her eggs in his basket, explaining, “I don’t want to waste anyone’s time. When you know, you know. Because I feel like I can fall in love with you. I have not been able to stop thinking about you.” His immediate reaction, which you can see below, was priceless.

In response, Morrey asked, “You sure you just don’t like my voice?” To which Benita responded, “I’m sure. I like you.” While Morrey told her that he wanted to go on more dates, he exited the pod, telling another cast member, “I just got love bombed.”
Looking back at the moment, Morrey confirmed, “It was pretty early.” However, he wasted no time defending Benita. He told Swooon, “The one thing I’d say with Benita, though, is I think she deserves a little grace.”
He added, “Not going through the experiment, people don’t understand the emotions there are really heightened. So it’s kind of like dating on steroids, right? Where everything’s accelerated, it’s quicker, and their emotions are higher. So the one thing I’d say is, I’d give Benita a little grace.”
However, that doesn’t negate his experience. “From my point of view, I was also going through that experiment, and to me, it felt early, and that was just kind of my reaction,” he confessed. “And you really don’t get to pick your reactions, right? They kind of happen naturally.”
Morrey ended up leaving the pods after his relationships with both Benita and Sarah came to an end. Looking back at his Love Is Blind experience, through the endless wisdom of Taylor Swift’s lyrics, Morrey revealed that his Love Is Blind journey most closely resembled Tortured Poets Department songs “The Manuscript” and “The Prophecy.”
As he put it, “I think… I’m not giving up. It’s still there, and this is just part of the story. Hopefully [I] can change the manuscript a little… and the prophecy.”
