Actor Tommy Sands appeared on the big screen many times over the course of his Hollywood career. In the beginning of his acting career, Sands starred in comedies like "Mardi Gras" (1958) with Pat Boone and Christine Carrere. He had a part on the television special "The Red Skelton Chevy Special" (CBS, 1959-1960). Sands also contributed music to "The James Dean Story" (1957). He kept working in film throughout the sixties, starring in "Babes in Toyland" (1961), "Love in a Goldfish Bowl" (1961) and the historical feature "The Longest Day" (1962) with Eddie Albert. During the latter half of his career, he continued to act in the dramatic adaptation "Ensign Pulver" (1964) with Robert Walker Jr., "None But the Brave" (1965) and the Fernando Lamas action movie "The Violent Ones" (1967). Sands more recently worked on the action picture "Escape From New York" (1981) with Kurt Russell.
