For many viewers, Gus Halper's handsome face seemed to become increasingly familiar over the course of a few short years as he appeared in ever more popular and acclaimed projects. Born in Manhattan, Halper opted to study drama at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, where he enjoyed the intensive program and its insular environment. After graduating in 2014, Halper began pounding the pavement in search of film and TV roles, appearing in the TV movie "Galyntine" (AMC, 2014) that same year. He also starred in the pilot-turned-TV-movie "Kingmakers" (ABC, 2015) and landed a minor role in the Meryl Streep film "Ricki and the Flash" (2015). But just the same, with his big break still awaiting him, Halper took matters into his own hands, co-founding the Taksu Theatre Company with other New York based UNCSA alumni. Halper would go on to co-star in the acclaimed independent film "Goat" (2016), which sought to explore toxic masculinity in the world of college fraternities. He also made a three-episode guest appearance on the TV series "Power" (Starz, 2014-), before auditioning for a new spin-off from the "Law & Order" (NBC, 1989-2009) franchise, "Law & Order: True Crime" (NBC, 2017-). Halper had never heard of the infamous Menendez brothers' murder trial when he auditioned for the role of Erik Menendez, but he nonetheless won the role, starring alongside dramatic heavyweight Edie Falco in the landmark mini-series.
