Kevin Williamson TV Shows Ranked: ‘Dawson’s Creek,’ ‘Vampire Diaries’ & More
After launching big-screen slasher franchises Scream and I Know What You Did Last Summer and creating, co-creating, or developing all the TV shows below, Kevin Williamson was prepared to call it a day. “I feel like I’ve had five careers,” the Dawson’s Creek mastermind told TV Insider recently. “I honestly felt like I was ready to retire, and it turned out I wasn’t.”
Indeed not. On Thursday, June 19, Netflix will debut Williamson’s latest project, The Waterfront, a TV drama inspired in part by his late father’s brushes with the law. “This is another side of me. This is the darker side of me,” he explained to us. “Dawson’s Creek was sort of the coming of age, the teenage drama, the first love, and all of that. I have always wanted to tell this story, too. … It’s like Dawson’s Creek, if everyone grew up to be criminals.”
Ahead of The Waterfront’s premiere, we’re ranking Williamson’s other TV ventures. Scroll down to see his misses and his hits.
