‘The Rookie’ Finale: Will Tim Propose to Lucy? Will Someone Die? (VIDEO)
Wait, could The Rookie be killing off characters in two consecutive episodes?! The preview for the Monday, May 4, finale certainly has us worried that maybe not everyone will be safe in the last Season 8 episode.
In the finale, titled “The Bandit,” ABC teases, “The team launches a high-stakes search to take down a notorious criminal. Meanwhile, Lucy’s [Melissa O’Neil] leadership is tested; Wesley [Shawn Ashmore] tests the boundaries of his friendships, and Nolan [Nathan Fillion] tries to balance duty and family.”
The trailer, which you can watch above, starts off with the moment everyone’s waiting for: Tim’s (Eric Winter) ready to propose to Lucy. He’s got the ring after meeting with Aaron’s (Tru Valentino) jeweler (Michael Nouri), raving about what he loves about Lucy, and picking out the right one (vintage) with a story she’ll love. In the video, Nolan asks to see it and, once he does, says, “She’s going to love it.”
Now, there’s a ticking clock on him doing the actual asking. Angela (Alyssa Diaz) warns Tim that the whole station knows he’s going to propose, so he has probably a day before Lucy finds out. (She’s not wrong.)
The rest of the preview focuses on the LAPD’s transfer of international crime boss Everett (Jeffrey Vincent Parise) to a courthouse downtown. “I watched him murder a man in cold blood,” Garza (Felix Solis) points out. The transfer, of course, goes wrong, and LAPD is pinned down. As the video ends, we can hear an “officer down!” Uh-oh!
