‘The 100’ Cast & Creator React to Series Ending With Season 7 (PHOTOS)

It was a privilege to watch my space delinquents go on such extraordinary adventures with you.”
“To make it this long is a testament to the hard work of so so many amazing people,” Sachin Sahel (Jackson) wrote. “This is how the show was meant to end and it was done on its own terms. I am so proud and honrored to have been a part of this show and it will forever be my favorite thing.”
“With #The100 Season 6 finale just days away, I have some bittersweet news to share: Season 7 will be our last,” creator and showrunner Jason Rothenberg shared. “We are eternally grateful to WB & CW for always allowing us to tell our story the way we want to & to wrap the show on our terms. What an incredible ride this has been!”
As Rothenberg noted in a tweet, “100 episodes of #the100. How perfect is that? #100ofthe100.” The series will be ending its run with that milestone.
“Here we are. We’ve come to the end of the road,” Richard Harmon (Murphy) tweeted. “But you best clutch onto them pearls of yours, if I know us… we don’t go out quietly. Here’s to one last ride.”
On Sunday at the Television Critics Association summer press tour, the CW announced that The 100, based on Kass Morgan’s novels, will be ending with its seventh season.
The news came just days ahead of the Season 6 finale (airing Tuesday, August 6), and according to network president Mark Pedowitz, it was showrunner Jason Rothenberg’s decision. “We have been very good at listening to our showrunners and creators about when is the right time to end a series so we spoke to Jason earlier in the week, we said, ‘We hear you. We agree with you,'” he said.
