‘Star Trek: Discovery’ Final Season Trailer Feels Like a Goodbye, Plus See New Photos
“Let’s fly,” Captain Michael Burnham (Sonequa Martin-Green) says in the Star Trek: Discovery final season trailer, and we’re not ready for the last time we hear those words from her.
The new video preview certainly feels like one for a final season (premiering April 4 on Paramount+), with the crew setting off on a very important mission, touching moments teased between characters, and Burnham looking like she’s about to cry at one point. “It has been a hell of a journey,” she says as the trailer begins, offering a look at the entire cast. And we can’t help but wish everything didn’t have to end someday.
The fifth and final season will find Captain Burnham and the crew of the U.S.S. Discovery uncovering a mystery that will send them on an epic adventure across the galaxy to find an ancient power whose very existence has been deliberately hidden for centuries. But there are others on the hunt as well…dangerous foes who are desperate to claim the prize for themselves and will stop at nothing to get it.
And as the trailer shows, they’re after the greatest treasure in the galaxy, which is dangerous in the wrong hands. Watch the video above for a look at what this crew and this family will be facing, then scroll down to check out all the photos released for the final season so far.
In addition to Martin-Green, Discovery Season 5 stars Doug Jones (Saru), Anthony Rapp (Paul Stamets), Mary Wiseman (Sylvia Tilly), Wilson Cruz (Dr. Hugh Culber), David Ajala (Cleveland “Book” Booker), Blu del Barrio (Adira), and Callum Keith Rennie (Rayner). Elias Toufexis (L’ak) and Eve Harlow (Moll) recur.
CBS Studios produces the series in association with Secret Hideout and Roddenberry Entertainment. Alex Kurtzman, Michelle Paradise, Heather Kadin, Aaron Baiers, Olatunde Osunsanmi, Martin-Green, Frank Siracusa, John Weber, Rod Roddenberry, and Trevor Roth serve as executive producers. Kurtzman and Paradise serve as co-showrunners.
