After being added to Netflix last month, Suits has completely broken their all-time streaming record. Suits has gained 3.14 billion minutes of streaming time in just one week, and it continues to grow. Starring Gabriel Macht and Patrick J. Adams, the series ran from 2011 to 2019 on USA Network, and fans are starting to wonder if this will prompt a surprise tenth season.

The series takes us through the intense yet comical dynamics of a New York City law firm, with a twist: There’s a fake lawyer involved. Harvey Spector (Macht) is intrigued by Mike Ross (Adams) after the latter stumbles into the associate interviews hiding from the police carrying a briefcase of drugs. Harvey hires Mike, with his photographic memory and charm, despite having no experience or law degree, and they become inseparable. While trying to win lawsuits, maintain relationships inside and outside the office, and hide Mike’s secret at the same time, the dynamic duo deal with a lot of obstacles and a lot of subpoenas. The stellar cast also includes Rick Hoffman, Meghan Markle, Sarah Rafferty, and Gina Torres. Four years later and this iconic Manhattan corporate lawyer drama is more popular than ever before.

After you’re done bingeing and waiting for a possible revival, scroll down to take a look at some shows that may remind you of this excellent series.

Mad Men - Jon Hamm, Elisabeth Moss, Christina Hendricks, John Slattery, Vincent Kartheiser
Craig Blankenhorn/AMC

Mad Men

Jon Hamm in this series is the blueprint for all men who try to portray the alpha male in a workplace series. There is no question that Macht’s character on Suits, Harvey Spector, took notes from Hamm’s Don Draper.

Don Draper is the epitome of a boss. Set in 1960s New York, the series centers around a big-time advertising firm and focuses on identity, gender roles, family values, and more to make it meaningful and powerful. Also starring January Jones, Elisabeth Moss, Christina Hendricks, John Slattery, and Vincent Kartheiser, the show focuses on many characters, their work-life balance, and the social and political issues in the 60s.

Suits fans will fall in love with Don the same way they fell in love with Harvey Spector and Mike Ross. Though advertising instead of law, the shows share similar values of its characters learning to navigate their relationships and attitudes within the office. The characters are lovable, relatable, and sometimes evil in the best way possible.

Billions

Here’s another prime example of men using their power and influence against each other over billions of dollars. In this series, set in New York, U.S. Attorney Chuck Rhoades (Paul Giamatti), a legend who never loses cases, battles with Bobby Axelrod (Damian Lewis), a hedge-fund king. Once criminal evidence is brought in, along with the role of Rhoades’ wife, Wendy (Maggie Siff), things get intense and messy very, very fast.

The show is based on real-life federal prosecutions involving financial crime and real United States Attorneys. Apart from involving the law, Suits fans will love and appreciate this series because of the strong battle between power and wealth, something that all of these shows have in common.

White Collar

This police procedural drama follows FBI Special Agent Peter Burke (Tim DeKay) and Neal Caffrey (Matt Bomer), an extremely intelligent con artist working as a consultant for the Bureau in New York City.

In an extremely similar way to how Harvey and Mike met (and the latter got a job offer), Neal was running away from the FBI, specifically Peter, who happens to be the head agent of their White Collar Crimes Unit. Neal escaped prison, and once he’s caught, he proposes a deal to help the FBI solve their cases in exchange for early release. Peter agrees, and so begins their wonderful journey as partners in actual crime. They work together to catch dangerous and high-brow white-collar criminals in New York City, and their dynamic is very similar.

Law & Order: Criminal Intent

Set in New York City, this police procedural drama focuses on the Major Case Squad and their high-profile investigations. The series is based on real-life crime stories and shocking cases that were mainly in the media.

The series stars Kathryn Erbe and Vincent D’Onofrio as the main detectives, Jamey Sheridan as the Captain, and Courtney B. Vance as the ADA.
