Evil tops Law & Order: SVU every week

For the first three weeks of the season, the freshman series has beat out the fan favorite in its historic 21st season in viewers: 4.56 million to 3.84 on September 26, 4.2 to 3.44 on October 3, and 3.67 to 3.42 on October 10.

While the NBC singing competition received a higher rating premiere night on September 23 (1.7 to 1.6), the Fox drama had the edge the following two weeks (1.6 to 1.5 on September 30 and 1.7 to 1.5 on October 7).

For the first three weeks, more people have watched the spinoff than the original series: 3.91 million to 3.49 on September 24, 3.51 to 3.13 on October 1, and 3.43 to 3.05 on October 8.

Emergence‘s premiere bests NCIS: New Orleans

The NCIS spinoff just lost out to the new ABC drama on premiere night, September 24, with a 0.7 rating to its 0.8.

For its final season premiere, the Fox drama edged out the CBS procedural with a 1.0 rating (to 0.9).

We’re a few weeks into the 2019-2020 season, and there have been a few unexpected ratings results.

Established favorites and long-running dramas like Law & Order: SVU and NCIS: New Orleans have lost out in a few instances to new series and spinoffs, like mixed-ish, EVIL and Emergence. And singing competition hits like The Voice did drop a bit following their season premieres.
