On Saturday, July 25, Hollywood lost one of its greatest TV icons as longtime host Regis Philbin died, just a month shy of his 89th birthday.
As Philbin’s former colleagues like Kelly Ripa, famous friends, and fans all mourn him after his passing, we’re looking back at his legacy — not just on the small screen in Live! With Regis and Kelly (and before that, Live! With Regis and Kathie Lee) and Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, but also as a cover subject for TV Guide Magazine.
The congenial star graced the cover of the magazine a number of times in the ’90s and ’00s, both by himself and alongside his aforementioned co-hosts Ripa and Kathie Lee Gifford, as well as his fellow TV host Alex Trebek.
