‘Chicago P.D.’ Finale: Burgess & Ruzek’s Wedding Photos, Plus How Will Voight Stop Reid? (VIDEO)
Well, there’s going to be joy and angst in the Chicago P.D. Season 12 finale, airing on Wednesday, May 21. In fact, the photos offer a look at the former and the promo the latter, for the aptly titled “Vows.”
The good news: Detective Kim Burgess (Marina Squerciati) and Officer Adam Ruzek (Patrick John Flueger) are finally getting married. Their loved ones will be on hand for the event, with photos offering a look at the ceremony (we love Burgess’ dress). Check those out below.
But it’s what’s going on in the promo — which you can watch up top — that has us worried about how the season might end. In the penultimate episode, Intelligence’s attempt to go after the dirty Deputy Chief Reid (Shawn Hatosy) backfired. When Voight (Jason Beghe) tried to use Otero (Juan Javier Cardenas) to take him down, the drug dealer was killed. And then Reid used the information he’d gathered on Intelligence. Reid arrested Torres (Benjamin Levy Aguilar) for official misconduct due to his sexual relationship with his CI, Gloria Perez. He then stripped Burgess of all police powers and suspended her immediately (no-pay status) pending further review for official misconduct in aid and destruction of evidence regarding Torres’ illegal relationship. He forced her to hand over her badge. Finally, he informed Voight, “This Intelligence unit is hereby disbanded, pending further review.”
Now, the promo for the finale shows Reid holding a press conference announcing a full investigation into Intelligence. Chapman (Sara Rue) warns Voight not to do something he can’t turn back from, but he says, “I have to.” But who’s in the car that flips over?!
The logline for “Vows” teases, “Forced to cease operations while under investigation by Internal Affairs, Intelligence goes off-book to bring down Reid once and for all; Ruzek and Burgess consider delaying their nuptials amid the uncertainty.” Well, the below photos suggest the latter won’t be happening, but maybe it will be a question of who can be in attendance and when it takes place?

Voight should use the fact that Reid knew about Torres and Burgess and did nothing so he should be suspended with no pay and stripped his police powers pending an IA investigation.

Omg finally the Burzek wedding and it only took 12 seasons.I think Voight should walk kim down the aisle. Reid thinks he won wait till voight figures out how he is going to bury Reid once and for all. He messed with the wrong person. You never take a swing at voight. Where was cook in this episode? I have to say she is not one of my favorites she doesn't fit in. She is always Messing things up that's probably why the Tack unit let her go. I love Chicago PD been a fan since season one.

I can’t wait til Reid is shown the door. He’s so 2 faced, it’s ridiculous. And I need to watch the recent episodes to give an honest assessment. I’m So Excited to Finally see Adam n Kim get married, my FAVORITES. I love all of the intelligence team. Chicago PD. Is a well written script. It’s not soapy like the others and has plenty of action and doesn’t make you feel like you haven’t any brains. I just love Adam, Kim and Makala as a family. And Voight needs Chapman. There is good acting here too! THANKS NBC for CHICAGO PD!

I think Reid should be taken down like the lieing carcus he is and not only did he know and should get in trouble but he also has 2 murders on his hands . Reid u might think u got voight but ur in for a rude awakening voight is coming back as he always dies and with a vengeance. You may have won the round but u haven't nor will you win the war. This is my favorite show...been watching since the start. Glad to see Kim and Adam FINALLY getting married! Reid is slick, but Hank Voight is the slick-est. At least 6 other Deputy Chiefs and higher ups have tried to take Voight down with no success....lol....Reid's day of being reckoned with by Voight is coming....and he WON'T win, he may not even live! Lol.... Finale and Season 13 Premiere will be fire!! 🔥🔥
