Florence Henderson, who became the quintessential American sitcom mom on The Brady Bunch, passed away on Thanksgiving at age 82 of heart failure.

The beloved actress is best known for playing sunny and warm matriarch Carol Brady on the 1969-74 ABC series, which featured TV’s most iconic blended family. Her long resume includes guest appearances on multiple series, including The Love Boat, Ally McBeal and 30 Rock.

Henderson revitalized her pop culture profile on Dancing With the Stars’ 11th season in 2010. She returned to the show this past Monday to support current contestant Maureen McCormick, who played Marcia Brady on The Brady Bunch.
