The actor who made everyone laugh on The Larry Sanders Show has passed away at 66 years old.

According to multiple sources, starting with TMZ, the comedian died today in Los Angeles at a hospital, though no details have been released about the cause of death.

Shandling co-created The Larry Sanders Show, an Emmy award-winning series about a fictional late-night talk show host. The series lasted for six seasons and also starred Jeffrey Tambor, Bob Odenkirk, Jeremy Piven, Mary Lynn Rajskub, Janeane Garofalo and Jon Stewart. A ton of celebrity guests also stopped by the show, including Jennifer Aniston, Alec Baldwin, Chevy Chase, Billy Crystal, Jeff Goldblum and Winona Ryder.

The funnyman also created It’s Garry Shandling’s Show, which aired for four seasons. Fans of The X-Files may also remember Shandling’s cameo role playing the Hollywood version of Agent Mulder. The actor was also known for his one-off movies roles, including a version of himself in Zoolander. He also had a cameo role as Senator Stern in Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Iron Man 2.
