MTV has announced the nominations for the 2019 Video Music Awards, and dozens of artists are being recognized for their talents.

The list of nominees includes familiar faces like Ariana Grande and Taylor Swift, who lead with 10 nods each, and first-time nominees like Billie Eilish and Lil Nas X, who snagged nine and eight nods, respectively. Other multiple nominees include Halsey, Shawn Mendes, Cardi B, the Jonas Brothers, and BTS.

The 2019 VMAs will introduce two new categories: Best K-Pop and Video for Good. And in a first for a major awards show, MTV revealed the nominations via the VMA chatbot, giving fans a sneak peek at the nominees via a direct message to the VMAs’ official accounts on Facebook and Twitter.

“It’s been an incredible year in music and this group of nominees perfectly reflect the rich pop music landscape,” Bruce Gillmer, Head of Music and Music Talent, Viacom and Co-Brand Head, MTV International, said in a statement. “We can’t wait to see the outcome, once the fans weigh in. It’s going to be an awesome, unforgettable evening!”

Beginning Tuesday through Thursday, August 15, fans can vote for their favorites across 14 gender-neutral categories, by visiting vma.mtv.com. Voting will remain open for “Best New Artist” until the VMA broadcast. Votes are doubled from 1-2pm ET every day, beginning Wednesday.

Fans can also cast additional votes for “Video of the Year,” “Song of the Year,” and others by DMing VMAs’ Facebook and Twitter accounts. Beginning this week, fans can ask Alexa to “vote for the VMAs” for “Artist of the Year” within the MTV skill on Alexa-enabled devices.

Comedian, actor, and best-selling author Sebastian Maniscalco will host the VMAs, which air live from the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J. on Monday, August 26, at 8 p.m. ET/PT and across MTV’s global networks of channels in more than 180 countries.
