Virgin-turned bad-ass thief? It’s not the path we would have guessed for Gina Rodriguez when it comes to roles, but that’s what’s in store for fans of the Jane the Virgin star.

In an announcement from Netflix via Deadline, it was revealed that Rodriguez will star in the newly acquired live-action Carmen Sandiego film. The streaming service—which had previously announced that Rodriguez is set to voice the character in an animated series—will also go in front of the cameras to bring you a new version of the classic character.

The film is among one of Rodriguez’s latest feature projects—she was most recently seen in the Natalie Portman-led film Annihilation. The Carmen Sandiego film is being produced under her I Can and I Will banner, and she’s teaming up with fellow producers Kevin Misher and Caroline Fraser, while Andy Berman will executive-produce.

Netflix’s animated series of the same title will feature Rodriguez voicing the main character, and it was also announced that Stranger ThingsFinn Wolfhard will be lending his vocals to the series, which is expected in 2019. A book series following the same characters has also been announced for release in conjunction with the animated series.

No release date has been made for the live-action film, but it is likely to launch some time after the animated series hits Netflix. According to Deadline‘s report, the film will be a standalone but pay homage to the ’90s entity which came in many different forms, from comic books and computer games to animated shows and films.
