What’s Worth Watching: Baby Drama On A Deadly Adoption

Is this real life? When news leaked that comedy superstars Will Ferrell and Kristen Wiig were partnering for a Lifetime made-for-TV movie, most assumed the former Saturday Night Live stars would be skewering the melodramatic format. But after the first trailer was released, it appears that Ferrell and Wiig might be playing it straight and A Deadly Adoption fits squarely into Lifetime’s tried and true programming slate. We will discover exactly what this film is when it premieres tonight. We do know that Ferrell and Wiig play a successful married couple who invite a pregnant woman (Jessica Lowndes) into their home during the last months of her pregnancy in hopes of adopting her child. But things spiral out of control when Lowndes wants a little more from the couple. Will it be funny? Will it be scary? All we know, with Ferrell and Wiig attached, is that A Deadly Adoption will undoubtedly be entertaining.
