What’s Worth Watching: Go inside Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert

Inside Comedy, “401” (Tuesday, May 5, 11/10c, Showtime)
There’re no cars. There’s no coffee. But there are comedians in former standup David Steinberg’s interview series. And thus, laughs. Tonight, Jon Stewart describes working the New York comedy scene with Louis C.K., Ray Romano, Colin Quinn and others—when he used to survive on Mexican food (free from the restaurant where he waited tables during the day) and hummus (free from the comedy clubs at night), and yet didn’t die from a gastrointestinal disease. And Stephen Colbert remembers meeting former Daily Show co-star Steve Carell when they were both part of improvisational comedy troupe The Second City in Chicago. The amusing (and illuminating) episode’s biggest treat: an early clip of the pair in a skit called “Waiters Who are Nauseated by Food.”
