First Look: Ray Romano and Chris O’Dowd Go Gangster in Epix’s ‘Get Shorty’

Preview
Get Shorty, Elmore Leonard’s crime fiction classic about a small-time gangster who moves to Hollywood and breaks into showbiz (adapted as a film in 1995), is coming to Epix. The story will be reimagined for the present day and introduce new characters, including Miles (Chris O’Dowd, far right), a hit man hoping to leave criminal life behind, and Rick (Ray Romano, near right), a hacky direct-to-video movie producer who becomes his unwitting business partner. “Initially Miles lets Rick think he’s in charge, but the tables will turn,” says executive producer Davey Holmes, noting that the 10-episode season is just the beginning. “We absolutely want it to be a continuing show—although not everyone is going to survive!”
Get Shorty, Series Premiere, Sunday, August 13, 10/9c, Epix
