Kids Choice Awards

28th Annual Kids’ Choice Awards (Saturday, March 28, 8/7c, Nickelodeon)

Finally, an awards show where ABC’s The Middle can get a little love. (Charlie McDermott, who plays Axl, is up for Favorite TV Actor—but not Eden Sher as Sue?) With categories covering kids’ and family favorites in TV, movies, music, books, and even addicting games (nominees include Angry Birds Transformers, Candy Crush Saga, Disney Infinity 2.0, Mario Kart 8, Minecraft, and Skylanders: Trap Team), the Kids’ Choice Awards is best known for dousing many of its illustrious participants with geysers of green slime. Host Nick Jonas leads the pop-culture parade, opening the show with renditions of his hit tunes “Jealous” and “Chains,” with scheduled performances at The “Fabulous” Forum in Inglewood, California, by Iggy Azalea with Jennifer Hudson, and 5 Seconds of Summer.

Presenters include Jamie Foxx, Emma Stone, Liam Hemsworth, Meghan Trainor, Nick Cannon, Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting, and Hilary Duff—and we’re betting at least a few of these good sports won’t make it off the stage before they’re showered in goo, which on this raucous night is a sure sign that you’ve made it. At least with the demographic that before long will be running this industry.
