Fox News’ The Sunday Briefing host Peter Doocy and his wife, Hillary Vaughn, welcomed their third child, a daughter named Molly Kate, on October 22.
“Welcome to the world, Molly Kate Doocy! Born October 22, 2026 at 8lb, 4oz. Mom and baby are doing great; big sister and big brother are so excited to be Doocy Party of 5!” Doocy wrote on Instagram on Sunday (November 1) alongside photos of the newborn baby.
Doocy married Vaughn, a former Fox Business correspondent, in 2021. The couple now share three children, including Molly Kate’s older siblings, Bridget (3) and George (18 months).
In an interview with People, Doocy revealed that his wife called him to tell him the baby was on the way just one minute before Fox News anchors threw to him for a 9 am live shot.

“I don’t think I’ve ever talked through a script so fast,” the former Fox News senior White House correspondent shared. “I threw back to New York, quickly grabbed my bag and started sprinting toward the White House gate, which I’m sure raised some eyebrows in the Secret Service guard shack.”
Vaughn said that their “hearts are bursting with joy” after welcoming Molly Kate, adding, “She is adored from head to toe.”
Doocy, who is the son of Fox & Friends traveling cohost Steve Doocy, said their house “felt ten times more full” after bringing Molly Kate home and settling her in the nursery they’d prepared.
“She arrived a few days after the due date — but just in time for midterm election results,” Doocy quipped. “We are so grateful she is here, and we are so excited to be Doocy, Party of Five!”
As for how Molly Kate’s siblings reacted to their new sister, Vaughn admitted it wasn’t quite the “picture-perfect moment” they envisioned.
“Poor Molly Kate got quite the welcome from George, who was brought to tears at the sight of his baby sister — cue the waterworks. George started crying… then Molly Kate started crying… and Bridget was on the brink of joining the chorus,” she explained.
However, after the “initial shock wore off,” Vaughn revealed that the “excitement set in.” She said George has been embracing his role as big brother and Bridget “is so excited to have a little sister” and “can’t wait to share her extensive bow collection with Molly Kate.”
