Tensions rose on the latest episode of HGTV‘s Sin City Rehab.

Alison Victoria‘s Windy City Rehab spinoff returned for Season 2 on October 7. In the season’s second episode on Wednesday, October 14, Victoria and her team hit delays on their latest home renovation.

“The house still isn’t done. We’re officially at, like, the end date for the project. We’re way past the deadline,” she said in a voiceover. “There’s so much going on today. I need to be there to just make sure all of it’s getting buttoned up.”

Once at the property, her project manager, Chad, gave her an update on the renovation’s status. When she entered the primary bathroom, Victoria was surprised to find that part of one wall hadn’t been tiled like the rest, leaving a bare gap above the doorframe.

“I mean, we really just couldn’t have taken it all the way around the wall?” she asked Chad. “It’s so bad. I mean, look, the reason that we did this was to have this grand entrance. And now, your entrance, what you look at is this short door. … I can’t put my name on that.”

Chad defended the voice, citing monetary restraints as the reason for the choice. “I’m trying to find where I can cut budget. And then, you know, I’ve got you that I’m trying to work with. And then, of course, my investor, which is obviously my primary obligation,” he explained. “I’m just making decisions in real time. And in this case, it was like, ‘Wow, where can I save a little bit of money?’ I knew that was a plan. It’s not like I just made up my own plan. I saw the plans. I just deviated.”

Despite his defense, Victoria was still unhappy with the result. “He deliberately did not tile that. He made the call on his own. What?” she stated in a confessional. “Like, that is not gonna work for me. That is not how this works.”

The wall was not retiled, and the gap remained when Victoria showed the completed house to a real estate agent named Sparrow. “One question: how come we didn’t wrap the tile all the way across?” the agent asked, to which Victoria responded, “This is like a learning thing for us. And Chad, poor Chad, who got caught in the middle. I’m never gonna put doors like this to open to that.”

Fans weighed in on Victoria’s reaction to the design mishap on HGTV’s official Instagram page. “That’s not saving money… it’s an excuse for his mess up,” one user wrote. “He realized he can’t connect one part of the wall with the other. I bet if he were to fill the tile in now, he’d end up with a 2′ cut over the center of the door and the horizontal grout lines will not line up.”

Another added, “That’s horrible, never deviate from the plan unless the plan does not work lol. Plus, how much did he really save on the budget?” Someone else shared, “Bro, you on hgtv working for a premier famous designer… they are your priority.”

A different person posted, “I love how she says, ‘I can’t put my name on that.’ My father said to work until you’re proud to put your name on it.” A separate commenter stated, “I love how she holds them accountable!” Another user described Victoria as a “D R A M A Q U E E N.”
