‘The Amazing Race’: Cody & Jaime Reveal Sweet Alliance Moment We Didn’t See

What To Know
- Cody Langlois and Jaime Tribo were eliminated from The Amazing Race in Leg 4.
- The siblings opened up to TV Insider about their elimination and biggest alliance on the show.
- Cody revealed the sweet moment that he and his sister knew they wanted to work with Daisha Wilks and Dalton Hamby during the very first leg.
Cody Langlois and Jaime Tribo’s journey on The Amazing Race came to an end during the October 14 episode. The siblings got lost in a Moroccan market and were last to arrive at the Pit Stop, despite Dylan Matter and Doug Matter getting a late start on the Leg 4 tasks after getting lost themselves.
“It was a very, very rough day,” Cody told TV Insider. “Navigating through there … I mean, I’ve navigated a lot of things in my life, but that was wild. In my mental state, I was like, ‘OK, cool, I’m a little bit taller. I’m a little bit stronger. I can carry this rug, and we’ll be able to navigate through, and I can hold it over people’s heads, and I’ll be fine.’ But having limited signage, limited directions, being stressed out…”
Jaime reiterated that there were “no street signs in the market” a lot of times and added, “There wasn’t even names on any of the buildings or the doors or anything.”
“Or we’d talk to somebody and be like, ‘Oh, it’s on the left.’ And then you walk in, there’s a five-point intersection. You’re like, ‘All right, well, how many lefts?'” Cody explained. He said he and his sister “really got in our own heads” once they struggled to find out where to go, and that they had a “false sense of security” because there was still one clue left in the box when they got to the rug Detour.
“I definitely should have taken more initiative and made sure because getting everybody stressed out doesn’t help with anything,” he admitted. “When we walked up to the mat, it was one of those like, ‘Man, we hope somebody did worse than us, but if this is where we go, that’s obvious.'” Jaime said the elimination was “heartbreaking,” especially because she quit her job and gave up healthcare for her family to participate on the show.
The siblings went on the Race in hopes of winning money to pay for their mom’s medical bills (she has multiple sclerosis). “I have imagined me having that phone call with my mom and being able to tell her, ‘You never have to worry about your bills, your medical bills. We can move you out of the second floor. You never have to worry about money again,'” Jaime recalled. “So how far [behind we] were in the moment didn’t matter as much to me. I was just sick to my stomach with everything going on.”
During their time on the show, Cody and Jaime built a strong alliance with Daisha Wilks and Dalton Hamby, which they said started during the very first leg.

“We just figured out how [genuinely] good people they were,” Cody shared. “During the first leg, when Jaime’s doing the salmon swing, and she’s trying to keep jumping off [the platform] … I could tell she is frustrated and falling apart. I can see in her mind she is beating herself up. And when she gets it and comes down, the first thing Jaime says to me, is, ‘At the top, Daisha gave me a hug.'”
Cody pointed out that Daisha and Dalton were behind them at that point in the race, so the fact that she “took the time” to be there for Jaime meant a lot. “She could have just been like, ‘Oh, let me jump ahead of you,’ and she went, ‘Hey, can I give you a hug? You seem upset.’ The second that happened, it was like, boom. Alliance.’ Our mom said it so many times, like, ‘I don’t want you guys to be the winners. I don’t want you to be successful. I want to be proud of you. Be the good people.’ And they took the time to be the good people.”
