CBS

Eleven teams remained in the race around the world in the October 7 episode of The Amazing Race. Leg 3 began with the pairs taking off from Spain and heading to Marrakech, Morocco, and five of them still had their Express Passes available to use before Leg 6.

All of the teams arrived in Morocco on the same flight and headed to the Roadblock, where Phil Keoghan revealed a new Roadside Assistance advantage that only one team would earn.

Scroll down to learn more about this brand new advantage, find out who used their Express Passes in Leg 3, and more.

What was the Roadblock in Episode 3?

This week’s Roadblock was called “Who Feels Like They’re Going to Pieces?” One member of each team had to find rejected pottery jugs in a huge yard of pottery pieces, then break them open until they found one with a clue.

The task was made more difficult by the fact that every jug had a clue envelope inside, but many of them said “Try Again” on the back, requiring the contestants to break several jugs before actually finding what they were looking for.

Jenn Naso struggled with the Roadblock, but her partner, Jody Rebhun, remained positive as she cheered her on. The ladies were at the Roadblock for two hours, with all the other teams lapping them by completing the next task before they even finished.

Who found the Roadside Assistance advantage?

The Roadside Assistance advantage was hidden in one of the clue envelopes inside the pottery jugs. The advantage will come into play in a future Roadblock, allowing a contestant to call upon their team member to help them complete the task.

Saran and Dafina Dunmore

Saran Dunmore and Dafina Dunmore found the advantage. They can use it until the fifth leg, so there will be two more opportunities for them to pull it out.

What was the Detour in Episode 3?

For the Leg 3 Detour, the teams had the option to choose Walk or Talk. The former required the team members to assemble a makeshift feeding station for camels. This called for physical strength, as they each had to roll heavy tires to a feeding post, fill them with alfalfa, then retrieve two camels and bring them over to enjoy the lunch.

Talk was the memorization challenge, requiring the contestants to drive high-powered buggies to the desert, then memorize three sign posts that contained parts of the name of a tea. Upon returning, they had to correctly recite the name of the tea to an elder before tasting it and moving on.

The teams chose the Walk Detour were: Ann-Marie Tejcek/Riely Tejcek, Daisha Wilks/Dalton Hamby, Conner Wilson/Garrett McGuire, Dylan Matter/Doug Matter, Anuar Tager/Andrea Tager Ballesca, and Ali Krieger/Joanna Lohman. However, Daisha struggled with the tire, so she and Dalton ultimately switched tasks.

The remaining teams (Dafina/Saran, Jaime Tibo/Cody Langlois, Erin Taylor/Javi Vintimillia, Matt Patterson/Michelle Rozalski Patterson, and Jody/Jenn) chose the Talk Detour.

After switching their choice, Daisha and Dalton agreed to work with Javi and Erin on the Talk Detour, then they also helped Cody and Jaime out after the siblings fell behind due to getting lost while looking for the clue box.

Who used the Express Pass in Episode 3?

Anuar and Andrea decided to use their Express Pass rather than complete the Detour. They started rolling their tires, but then noticed how other teams were quickly catching up to them, so they moved on.

They were then first to arrive at the next task, which required the teams to replicate a fruit stand at a Moroccan market. It was here that Ann-Marie and Riley chose to use their Express Pass, sending them straight to the Pit Stop.

Meanwhile, Cody and Jaime excelled at building the fruit stand, so they stopped and paid Daisha and Dalton back for helping them at the Detour. Dylan and Doug struggled with the task and were still there when Jenn and Jody finally arrived.

Who was eliminated in Episode 3?

Nobody was eliminated at the end of the episode because we were left with a “To Be Continued…” title card as Doug/Dylan and Jenn/Jody raced to meet Keoghan at the Pit Stop.

The other teams finished in the following order: Ann-Marie/Riley, Anuar/Andrea, Ali/Joanna, Conner/Garrett, Cody/Jaime, Michelle/Matt, Dafina/Saran, Erin/Javi, and Daisha/Dalton. The other two teams had a foot race to the mat, but we won’t know who gets there first until next week.
