What To Know

  • FBI Season 9 kicked off with OA undercover.
  • TV Insider has exclusive photos and details about the episode that looks to bring him back to the team.
  • Showrunner Mike Weiss teases what to expect from OA after his assignment is over.

Well, this is a familiar sight: Maggie (Missy Peregrym) and OA (Zeeko Zaki) back working a case together!

TV Insider can exclusively reveal the description and photos from the Monday, October 26, episode of FBI, and it looks like OA’s undercover assignment is going to be done. In “Reticence,” CBS teases, “The team investigates a missing infant and a string of murders as it all connects to a rocket propulsion company on the verge of going public. The team struggles to find the truth when their investigation points to the daunting conclusion that the suspect is one of their own.”

Our first-look photos, which you can check out above and below show OA back in his regular suit alongside Maggie — it seems to be his first case back with the team — as well as Maggie with Isaiah (Roland Buck III), who has been working as her new partner. We’ll have to see what this means for his continued role on the team.

Still to come before this episode is October 19’s “White Rock” in which, “The team pulls out all stops to finally move against Anna Vorpe (guest star Claire Coffee) and her seemingly impervious Strike Team. While undercover, OA struggles with what he has to become in order to keep his identity hidden, and put Anna behind bars for good.”

When we spoke with showrunner Mike Weiss ahead of the season, he acknowledged that undercover stories like this have been told before in TV shows and movies. “But one of the most interesting things about being undercover is that a character that you usually love has to figure out how to not lose himself or herself in their undercover assignment: How do you maintain cover and go deep into a world where you’re surrounded by bad people and not have it cost you your soul in the process?” he told us.

“When he eventually does come back to the team, he’s going to be changed by his experiences undercover, and it’s going to be up to Maggie, Scola [John Boyd], Eva [Juliana Aiden Martinez], and everyone to help him get back to the person and the agent that he was before he went undercover,” he continued. “The question is, is that even fully, fully possible? Are you forever changed by your experience if it’s that intense going on an assignment like this? And that’s kind of the longer arc part of the story that we’re going to be telling for OA. And Zeeko is all over it. He’s so dialed into this question and this problem. And I think fans are going to love these episodes, especially at the top of the season, that focus on him and this struggle so much.”

This episode is likely just the beginning of that.
