‘Eternally Yours’ Stars Tease Max’s Vampire Transformation
Eternally Yours has arrived, and despite teasing the marital discord at the center of vampires Liz (Allegra Edwards) and Charles (Ed Weeks) relationship, the premiere revealed that this comedy is a real fish-out-of-water tale about their daughter Emma’s (Helen J. Shen) boyfriend, Max (Jaren Lewison).
In an exclusive sit-down interview with the cast at New York Comic Con, TV Insider uncovers what comes next after Max was transformed into a vampire in the series premiere. “Well, I think I’m initially going to be his antagonist,” Weeks jokes about how Charles will welcome Max into the coven. “I don’t trust him. I don’t like him. He’s too optimistic, he’s too naive, he’s too new a soul, but I think gradually there will be some kind of begrudging respect.”
“I’m gonna get there in the end,” Lewison promises. And Weeks admits as much, adding, “He’ll get there, he’ll break through my cold dead heart.”

Meanwhile, Edwards says that Liz is “Max’s advocate,” revealing, “I’m the secret cheerleader in the corner of the ring.”
Lewison says his character is a “mirror” for the coven. “I think that Max encourages people to look inwards and to look at their relationships with each other and, hopefully, whether they like it or not, change a little bit,” he explains. After all, he’s open to therapizing, as viewers saw in the premiere during his conversation with Liz and Charles pre-vampire reveal.
As for Max’s girlfriend, Shen says, “I think Emma’s probably Max’s top ally in an outwardly way.” Pointing to Edwards, she adds, “If you’re the secret ally, then I think Emma is the not-so-secret ally.”
Although fellow coven members Jesse (Parker Young) and his human wife Phyllis (Rose Abdoo) may be less invested in the family dynamics of Liz and Charles and Emma and Max, Abdoo admits, “I think Phyllis is just so excited to have a pal and someone she has something in common with in the coven.”
Young echoes those sentiments, adding that Jesse thinks, “It’s just so exciting to have some fresh dead meat in the house.”
